ServiceNow Business Analyst

The Business Analyst is responsible for understanding the customer’s system-related business objectives and processes, performing analysis and developing business requirements, and linking them to defined outcomes.


  • Facilitate communication between key stakeholders to ensure concise communication of project requirements to achieve consistent quality deliverables within client expectations.
  • Collaborate with key process owners across the organization to define requirement.
  • Perform detailed data analysis and business process evaluation in efforts to improve current processes in place within both the business and technical communities.
  • Provide input to Project Manager related to project schedules and project status updates including identification of risk and escalation of critical issues.
  • Produce documentation including procedures, process flow diagrams, work instructions, and protocols for processes as input in determining solutions that meet business needs while being cost effective.
  • Coordinate end user acceptance and gathering necessary approvals to migrate changes to the production environment.
  • Maintain solid working knowledge of functionality of existing applications and systems, where applicable.
  • Assist in research and evaluation of technical solutions to business related system issues to recommend most efficient and cost-effective solution considering existing systems, available technology, desired results, and business partner needs.
  • Guide and support other team members in requirements and testing efforts
  • Develop and maintain business process models and internal IT functional documentation for areas of responsibility.
  • Develop good peer to peer working relationships with both internal and external business partners.


  • Previous experience in BA role with ServiceNow implementation is required
  • 5+ yrs professional experience in developing business requirements, functional specifications, user interface specifications and documenting process flows.
  • 3-6 yrs experience working with the implementation of enterprise class solutions is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Strong communication skills and the ability to lead client facing design sessions. Must be able to present business process flows, document decisions, actions, and discussions in meeting minutes.
  • Experience working with customers to define/optimize their business processes, breaking them down into requirements, and helping define the implementation through available technologies.  Use of requirements traceability tools, such as HP ALM.
  • Knowledge of Database Concepts with experience in SQL/Query Tools
  • Experience with Agile development and use of product backlog for prioritization and tracking user stories.


  • Knowledge of the FDA systems and business processes
  • Business Analysis Certification preferred (CBAP – Certified Business Analysis Professional).


  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in Information Systems, Business Administration or related discipline highly preferred.
